Coffee CornerPROJECT PROPOSAL

In the era of technology, we reached at industrial revolution (IR) 4.0. These problems are directly connected/related to the Industrial Innovation which is one of them Sustainable development Goal (SDG) and these problems are burden for our Industrial Innovation. So, our proposed solutions released the burden and mitigate Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

BACKGROUND STUDY

Online shopping is a great place even for finding lunch or dinner. Now even the drinks also added to the necessity of our life. One of the most desirable and popular drinks is Coffee. It was blamed as to cause madness, as it annihilates the laziness some would even say it is a gift from heaven. There are many benefits of coffee such as boosting physical performance, losing weight, burning fat, helps to stay focused, decreases the risk of premature death, reduces the risk of cancers, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, improves the immune system, etc.

Making traditional coffee takes a lot of time. Not to mention the modern coffee also consumes a huge amount of time. The busy schedule of our daily life never let us do that.
That is why people prefer buying coffee from shops. As the taste of human’s changes, the coffee is also modified to give us the pleasure that we like. Many companies have different types of coffee making systems which are represented by the brand. There are many Coffee branded shops around Malaysia, well known and popular coffee branded shops are Starbucks, Tea-live, Richiamo Coffee, Coffee Stain, Costa Coffee, Dome, etc.

Furthermore, people are so busy with the work that they prefer buying online, it is a fact that every shop cannot make their online application design to sell their coffee online and some are unable to maintain that properly. New coffee shops are having a hard time reaching out to customers. Upholding the title as the cheapest coffee shop in Malaysia, the shop lives by their philosophy that can be summed up in three words: PRODUCT, SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE.

LESS ACCURACY IN MANUAL ORDERING

For giving an order the customer has to go to physically and sometime they have to face a traffic. Mismanagement and mishandeling is a great issue for handling a traffic of customers.

PAYMENT SYSTEM

The problem with manual order processing is the staff have to do everything themselves. That includes waiting for payments to come in and chasing. Their customers for invoices that are past their due date. It’s completely different when they have a streamlined online process where they can get on with doing what they love whilst letting their system automatically send electronic invoices and charge customers by credit card or direct debit which means no more chasing payments.All these requirements will burden the customers as they might not have enough cash and if they do not have transport to go to the cafe to order just a single menu.

DELIVERY SYSTEM

Other applications deliver every food which makes the delivery late sometimes. This may cause my hot coffee to become cold if an application is made for only coffee where it will be mentioned that the time needed for the delivery. Lackings of online delivery tracking system, the customer can’t track their order. Sometimes they need to wait more times to get the food.

It is a great Hamper to the business.

How can we SOLVE those PROBLEMS?

PROPOSED SOLUTIONS

The solution that we want to propose is to improve the current systems with automated both order and delivery systems into a mobile application as well as through their official website. This mobile app will consist of two main functions which will allow customers to order online then pick up at the cafe or using a delivery service. If it’s automated then the customer will be able to choose the ingredients by themself which will be more accurate.

It’s displeasing to wait in line for payments. Since this system is an online mobile application-based, customers can either pay by cash or online payment like FPX (online banking) or Debit/Credit Card online. Delivery tracing features will also be provided in this app, where customers can check the location and status of their orders.
Through this application customers can order varieties of coffee in the meantime restaurant owner and the delivery hub will be accessing this order and take action for completing the delivery procedures. Delivery tracing features will also be provided in this app, along with the Timing notification where customers can check the location and required time and status of their orders.

        Besides, utilizing the mobile platform will allow users to access databases of the seller, buyer, organization, and their purchase, sell, or services. The mobile platform can also enhance the exposure of the cafe and increase customer engagement with comparatively fewer expenses. For customer experience, this comprehensive system gives easily readable information with quick one-tap connectivity to the cafe, thus allowing a virtual interaction between them.

Based on our feasibility study, technically their current system is neither feasible nor mitigates customer satisfaction, therefore we proposed a better system that is much more feasible and benefits not only the customers but also the cafe’s management team as well.

Our proposed solution will cover and solve problems related to the main objectives are as follows:

  • To design UI and develop a coffee order and delivery system for all coffee cafes. 
  • To make an app as ease of use for the customer to order their coffee without waiting for the restaurant to confirm the order through WhatsApp.
  • To increase efficiency and improve services provided to the customer through better application of technology.

One of the proposed system benefits is that the system simplifies the task of taking orders and delivering food from the cafe since the users can access it fairly easily and have the choice of dine-in or takeaway while the workers can access orders on their smartphone. The cafe management system can also benefit from this because orders are easier to manage and all of the workers can see the orders and focus better. Rechecking for orders has also been made easy for all users.


Who are our TARGETED USERS?



University Students

They mostly are busy with the study and to ensure the proper use of the time they can use the app. This way their time consumption on this matter will reduce significantly. Another mentionable part is most of them stay away from family and don’t have cooking skills.

University Personnel

University staff holds a lot of workloads. Especially during the lunch period, they recommend taking food from the nearest restaurants. That’s we can help them to provide the food that they want to have in a short period of time.

Corporate Job Holders

They are always busy with their work. Sometimes they have to skip meals for their devotion to the work. To minimize the time consumption and healthy eating habits, we targeted them.
